The buying decision usually starts on a phone
Most Nepali web traffic arrives on mobile, often on a connection that is intermittent rather than slow. A site that loads acceptably on office fibre can be unusable in Kalanki at six in the evening. We measure page performance on throttled mobile connections rather than on laboratory scores alone, because that is the condition the enquiry actually arrives in.
Enquiries arrive on WhatsApp and Viber, not forms
A contact form is often the least used route on a Nepali business website. Customers message. Any measurement setup that only counts form submissions will report that marketing is failing while the phone is busy, which is why we capture source at the point of enquiry across every channel including messaging apps.
The calendar is not the Gregorian one
Campaign planning in Kathmandu works around Dashain and Tihar, the Nepali fiscal year ending in mid-July, admission cycles for consultancies and colleges, and the monsoon's effect on anything outdoor. Content calendars built from an international template miss all of it, and the gap is visible in engagement.
Outdoor advertising is a materials decision
Kathmandu's monsoon and dust are hard on printed material. Standard flex in direct sun fades within a season or two. Specification — substrate, lamination, mounting — decides whether a hoarding still reads in month eight, and that decision is made before anything is printed.
Local search is dominated by the map, not the website
For clinics, showrooms, restaurants and salons in the Valley, the Google Business Profile carries more weight than the homepage. Distance from the searcher is one of the three factors Google weighs, and it cannot be manufactured — which is why we build relevance and prominence honestly rather than renting an address in a district a business does not operate from.
