The problem this solves

Paid search and SEO are usually bought from different people who never speak. The result is a business bidding on terms it already ranks first for, and ignoring high-intent terms it will never rank for organically. The wasted spend is invisible unless somebody looks at both reports on the same page.

Who this is for

Businesses already investing in both paid search and SEO, or about to, who want one plan across the two. If you only want one of them, buy that service directly — this page exists for the overlap.

Deliverables

  • A single keyword map marking each term as paid, organic or both, with the reason
  • Bid reductions on terms where you already hold a strong organic position
  • Paid coverage on commercially valuable terms that are unrealistic organically
  • Brand term strategy, including whether defending your own name is worth the spend
  • Combined reporting showing total search visibility and blended cost per enquiry

How we run it

  1. 01

    Combined visibility audit

Current paid and organic positions are mapped on one sheet, which usually reveals both overlap and gaps within the first week.

    You receive

    Combined search visibility map

  2. 02

    Allocation

Each term is assigned to paid, organic or both, and the paid budget is reallocated accordingly.

    You receive

Term allocation plan with budget impact

  3. 03

    Execute

Campaign and content changes are made in step, so an organic gain reduces the paid bid rather than sitting alongside it.

    You receive

    Coordinated campaign and content updates

  4. 04

    Report as one channel

Search is reported as a single channel with a blended cost per enquiry.

    You receive

    Monthly combined search report

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between SEM and SEO?
SEO earns organic positions and costs time and content. SEM in its common usage means paid search — you buy the position and stop appearing when you stop paying. Used precisely, SEM covers both. This page is about planning them together; if you want one of them alone, our SEO and Google Ads pages cover those directly.
Should we bid on our own brand name?
Sometimes. If a competitor is bidding on your name, or your organic result sits below directory listings, defending it is usually cheap and worthwhile. If you already hold the first organic result and nobody is bidding against you, it is often money that would work harder elsewhere. We check rather than assume.
